At Women Speak Up, we celebrate women who not only find their voice but also use it to empower others, lead with authenticity, and create meaningful change. This month, we are honored to feature Adyna K. Pressley, Founder and CEO of AKP Innovations, award winning Identity Leadership Architect, international speaker, author, and Board President of SparkLife International (Ghana).

Leading with Identity and Purpose as CEO of AKP Innovations

Adyna K. Pressley is the Founder and CEO of AKP Innovations, where she helps women leaders and entrepreneurs develop the clarity, confidence, and identity rooted strategies needed to navigate change and lead with intention. After a 34 year career in corporate finance and operations, including serving as Vice President of Operations, Adyna transformed an unexpected layoff into an opportunity for reinvention and purpose.

Today, through her proprietary Identity Leadership Architecture™ framework, she supports newly promoted, emerging, and high achieving women leaders. She is especially passionate about helping underrepresented Black women navigate leadership environments where they often lack the resources and support needed to thrive. In addition, she helps aspiring women entrepreneurs build strong business foundations while using artificial intelligence in ways that preserve their authentic voices.

As an international speaker and award winning author of Rise Into You, Adyna encourages women to embrace who they are, own their stories, and confidently step into leadership.

Using Her Voice to Build Women Leaders of Color

For Adyna, leadership begins with identity. She believes every woman has the ability to lead when she fully embraces who she is and has confidence in what she stands for.

"I am a woman who builds leaders. I stand for identity, integrity, and the audacity to rise into the fullest expression of who you were called to be. My work lives at the intersection of strategy and inner identity, helping people unlock their voice, own their power, and lead with intention. At my core, I believe in transformation, community, and creating spaces where women don't just succeed, they expand."

She does more than speak about leadership. She uses her voice as a catalyst for change by drawing from her own experiences and creating spaces where women, especially Black women and high achieving professionals, feel seen, heard, and supported.

"I've used my voice as a catalyst based on my lived experiences not just to speak, but to shift rooms, open doors, and make sure women who look like me are seen, heard, and supported. I advocate by naming the hard things, leading with truth, and creating spaces where Black women and high achieving professionals can rise without apology. My voice is both a bridge and a blueprint. It connects people to possibility and shows them what is possible when they stand fully in who they are."

Her experiences have shaped a voice that resonates deeply with women facing similar challenges, making her message both personal and empowering.

Embracing Imperfection Through Authentic Leadership

One of the moments Adyna is most proud of reflects the power of authenticity over perfection.

During a speaking engagement, she found herself completely thrown off rhythm. She was breathless, flustered, and convinced she had failed. Instead of hiding behind perfection, she chose to remain present and lead with authenticity.

"One moment I'm deeply proud of was the day I stood on stage, completely thrown off my rhythm, breathless, flustered, and convinced I had just bombed and still chose to stay present, stay real, and stay me. Instead of hiding behind perfection, I let my authenticity lead. The audience didn't just hear my message. They connected to my humanity. That moment reminded me that my voice isn't strongest when everything goes right. It's strongest when I refuse to shrink, even in the messy, unscripted parts of leadership."

Her experience serves as a reminder that leadership is not about perfection. It is about showing up with courage, especially when the path feels uncertain.

Voices That Helped Shape Her Journey

When asked who inspired her journey, Adyna immediately thought of the women who encouraged her to believe in herself and recognize her own strength.

"The women who helped amplify my voice were the beautiful sisters I traveled with on our annual girls trip to Nashville. Something shifted for me on that trip. The conversations, the laughter, the honesty, the way they poured into me and reminded me of the power I'd been carrying for years."

Their encouragement gave her the confidence to believe in herself and pursue a new chapter in her career. Today, she strives to provide that same encouragement for other women by helping them embrace their identities and lead with confidence.

"Those women didn't just hype me up. They held up a mirror and showed me the leader I was becoming. Their belief in me was the spark that pushed me to take my 34 years of experience and finally make it work for myself."

Advice for Women Finding Their Voice

For women who are just beginning their journey, Adyna encourages them to trust themselves and lead with authenticity.

"Finding your voice starts with the quiet truth you've been whispering to yourself, the one you've ignored, minimized, or pushed aside because life told you to be smaller. Honor that truth. Let it rise. Your voice grows every time you choose alignment over approval, authenticity over performance, and courage over convenience."

She also believes that no woman should walk the journey alone. Growth happens within a supportive community.

"You cannot do it alone. You need women, mentors, and community around you who can hold space for your becoming, reflect your brilliance back to you, and remind you that your voice is worth hearing even on the days you doubt it. Your voice is personal, but its evolution is communal."

What It Means to Be Voice of the Month

Being recognized as Voice of the Month is a meaningful reminder that her work is making a lasting impact.

"Being Voice of the Month means standing in the fullness of my calling and allowing my leadership to be witnessed, not just felt. It's an affirmation that the way I speak, teach, and pour into women is creating real impact, the kind that shifts identities, elevates confidence, and expands what people believe is possible for themselves."

For Adyna, the recognition represents something even greater than personal achievement.

"It reminds me that my voice isn't just mine. It's a vessel for community, empowerment, and legacy."
